Family Expedition: Cairo to Hurghada

We start today’s tour with a bang, with a visit to the immense Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza, a true highlight of your 12 Day Egypt Family Holiday Package. We also include a camel ride at the pyramids, fun for all the family and a perfect photo opportunity to capture unforgettable memories.

\We then head into the center of town to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, which contains the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the world.

This evening, you will board the overnight sleeper train to Aswan, adding a unique and exciting experience to your Family Expedition through Egypt.

The River Nile is at its most picturesque here in Aswan, and we take advantage of this with a tour of the beautiful island Temple of Philae by boat, one of the highlights of your 12 Day Egypt Family Holiday Package.

During term times, we will also visit a local school where we arrange a fun and informal joint English/Arabic language class with children of a similar age to your group, creating a memorable cultural exchange for the whole family. A traditional Nubian meal is also included today, offering an authentic taste of southern Egypt.

There is the option very early this morning for a tour of the temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel, which have a fascinating story as they were completely dismantled and rebuilt piece by piece to escape the rising waters of Lake Nasser (optional), adding a truly unforgettable experience to your 12 Day Egypt Family Adventure.

If you do not do Abu Simbel, the morning is free to explore Aswan’s busy and exotic bazaar or relax in the hotel before we board our Felucca sailboat for a 1-hour sailing on the Nile, a relaxing and family-friendly highlight of the Family tour package.

After breakfast, we drive to Luxor, where we check into our hotel by the Nile as part of your 12 Day Egypt Family Adventure. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the riverside setting.

There is the option today of a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the west bank of the Nile (optional), a memorable highlight of your 12 Day Egypt Family Holiday Package.

Today’s tour takes in the West Bank of the Nile as part of the Family Expedition, visiting the Pharaonic tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the unique Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, where we learn about her fascinating story.

The afternoon is free to relax in the hotel, explore Luxor town, take another felucca trip on the Nile to Banana Island, or perhaps visit the Mummification Museum.

We tour one of Egypt’s biggest and most impressive sites today, Karnak Temple, with its huge temples, obelisks, statues, and columned halls, as part of an unforgettable family tour in Egypt designed to blend history with enjoyment for all ages.

In the afternoon, we drive through the hills and down to the Red Sea and our beach resort in Hurghada (on half board basis), making this day a perfect balance between culture and relaxation within your 12-day Egypt family holiday package. Options are available to upgrade to all-inclusive or to change the resort to a higher level or different style.

These three days are free to relax in and around the hotel pool and beach or to try some watersports or other activities as part of your Family Expedition in Hurghada. Today is your last opportunity to dive into the Red Sea and/or join us for some optional activities before flying back to Cairo tomorrow, making the most of your 12-day Egypt family tour package experience.

We take a morning flight with Egypt Air back to Cairo and then have a short tour to explore the mosque and museum at the Saladin Citadel overlooking the city, wander around, and possibly do some haggling and souvenir shopping in the busy Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar. We will visit a traditional local Koshari shop for a snack lunch. In the evening, we will include a farewell dinner to say goodbye to your Egyptologist guide and fellow travelers, completing your 12-day Egypt Family adventure
