Tour Itinerary

Welcome to the land of the pharaohs! Our driver and representative will await your arrival at Cairo International Airport. They will help you through your passport control and luggage and transfer you to the hotel in Cairo.

Overnight: Cairo.

Today, we visit the legendary Giza Pyramids and the iconic Sphinx at Giza Plateau, the sole survivors of the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World.

Stand in awe before the largest of the three Great Pyramids of Giza - Cheops. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it took over 20 years to construct.

We explore this area on foot and then on the back of a camel! Off we ride into the sands, our sturdy ships of the desert beneath us!

Overnight: Cairo | Meals: Breakfast.

Today, we venture in search of the treasures of King Tutankhamun and more at the Egyptian Museum. Later we tour the Islamic Citadel of Saladin with views looking down over the old city, watching people go about their daily life.

We conclude the day with a market walk through the bustling Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. Time to freshen up; this evening, we take the comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Overnight: Sleeper Train | Meals: Breakfast, Dinner.

This morning we arrive in Aswan and explore the Nubian Village on a guided walk of the local market and souq. Scenically located on the Nile, walking along the riverside corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is the Aswan Bazaar. Free afternoon.

Overnight: Aswan | Meals: Breakfast.

A free day or opt for the morning air excursion to Abu Simbel (optional). Spend the remainder of the afternoon leisurely; maybe relax by the pool, stroll along the Nile corniche, or explore the lively marketplace.

Overnight: Aswan | Meals: Breakfast.

This morning, we board a Felucca and cruise in and around the islands located on the Nile before stopping at Seheil island, where we visit a local village and school (if open); sometimes, there is even a local football game in action.

Lunch will be served in the home of an Egyptian family, followed by the train north to Luxor, one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. The 4000-year-old site of ancient Thebes, known today as Luxor, is our base for the next three days.

Overnight: Luxor | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

Today we visited Karnak Temple. More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons, statuettes, and obelisks. Built on a grand scale, Karnak is probably Egypt’s finest ancient temple.

This afternoon is free to wander along Luxor’s historic waterfront. This evening, we travel in horse-drawn carriages to the illuminated Temple of Luxor, where we enjoy a tour in the cool evening air.

Overnight: Luxor | Meals: Breakfast.

Today, we visit Luxor’s legendary West Bank – home to the famous Valleys of the Kings, the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the gigantic Colossi of Memnon. See how the ancient Egyptians confounded tomb robbers with the construction of elaborate catacombs, once filled with treasures and highly decorated to allow the pharaoh passage to the afterlife. Tonight, we return to Cairo by sleeper train.

Overnight: Sleeper Train | Meals: Breakfast, Dinner.

Arriving in Cairo this morning, the rest of the day is free to explore Africa’s largest city. Spend the day around the pool, or perhaps head out, explore, and take the family for a nice lunch at one of the city’s many hotels.

Overnight: Cairo | Meals: Breakfast.

The tour ends after breakfast and includes an onward transfer to the airport to go back home.

Meals: Breakfast.

Your Egypt Tours Reviews

Travel has helped us to understand the meaning of life and it has helped us become better people. Each time we travel, we see the world with new eyes.

Absolutely mind blowing. A definite must see. We flew from Aswan after I contact them, as I did not want to sit in car for hours with my 10-year-old daughter. Just so much history and ancient love. You cannot miss this one thing if you are in Cairo. The rocks are just HUGE, so special.
