Your Day tour begins with a fascinating introduction to each of the three Giza pyramids: Cheops, Khafre, and Menakaure. You will have free time to enter one of the pyramids (additional cost), though your guide is not permitted to enter with you. A short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, the enigmatic symbol of Egypt. Cairo's famous Egyptian Museum houses 165,000 Egyptian artifacts, but the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun are the highlight. His three gilded coffins dominate the main hall, while his magnificent death mask is the star attraction. Your guide will introduce you to the museum's most important pieces before you have free time to explore at your leisure. Continuing to Khan el Khalili bazaar, you'll enjoy free time to stroll through the maze of streets and bargain for a souvenir of your trip to Egypt. During the day you will also have the chance to visit a Papyrus Institute to see how the famous artwork is made.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo by your Egyptologist guide who will drive you to Alexandria city on an air-conditioned vehicle (3-hour-drive) where you will start a fascinating tour of this famous city, the second-largest city in Egypt. Alexandria has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern and is famous for its Roman remains. As this is a private tour, you can determine the amount of time you will spend at each of the sites you visit. Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great in 312 B.C. and was the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt. Your first stop in this historic city is the catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, a Roman burial site whose family tomb reveals the merging of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. Descend below ground to visit the tomb and Caracalla Hall. Back above ground, continue to Pompey's Pillar, an 82-foot (25-meter) granite column built to honor Emperor Diocletian, who freed the besieged city and brought food to its starving people. Next to Pillar, you will find the remains of Serapion Temple. Continuing the Roman theme, the next site you will visit is the Roman amphitheater, possibly the best-preserved Roman site in Egypt. The site also includes the remains of a Roman street and homes. After lunch (additional cost), you will visit the famous Alexandria Library. In contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt, the Norwegian-designed building is a striking piece of modern design. A copy of every book published in the world is kept in the library, making it one of the great literary sites in the world. The library also houses several exhibitions relating to the history of Egypt and a display of rare antique books (for an additional cost). After the conclusion of your tour, you will be driven to your hotel to check in. Overnight in Alexandria.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will tour the unforgettable Citadel of Quiatbay. The Citadel was built over the ruins of Pharos lighthouse, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. You will walk and relax on a tour of the Montazah Palace and its green gardens. After the conclusion of your tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo for drop-off.

Reservations should be made as early as possible to book the desired holiday. Space on a given tour will be secured upon receipt of a deposit of 25% of the full price. This payment will be 50% during the Christmas and New Year holidays and on packages including airfare. This deposit counts as part of your final payment.
