One day in Cairo offers a perfect insight into ancient Egypt from many angles, a day when you can learn more than you can imagine about the pharaohs and get a close look at them at the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. The second day, we delve into old Cairo, where you can feel the history through the streets, mosques, and churches. And the cherry on the famous Khan El Khalili. All this will leave you with unforgettable memories you haven’t had before!
If one were to visit Cairo for anything, it would be the Great Giza Pyramids – the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. There, you will feel the grandeur and be overwhelmed by those enormous stone structures standing silently through time. Just nearby, you can also see the Sphinx, which guards the pyramids with its mysterious expression.
Once you’ve explored the Pyramids, we will head to the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the most modern and impressive museums in the world. As you enter, you will be welcomed by its vast open spaces and monumental statues that immediately reflect the greatness of ancient Egypt.
Inside, the museum presents an extraordinary collection of artifacts that span thousands of years of history. Among its highlights are the treasures of King Tutankhamun, displayed with remarkable detail, including his golden mask, royal jewelry, and personal belongings that reveal the richness of ancient Egyptian life.
Walking through the galleries, you will experience a carefully designed journey through time, discovering how the ancient Egyptians lived, worshipped their gods, and created one of the most powerful civilizations in history.
Your second day in Cairo starts with a visit to Old Cairo, which is a historical area containing interesting places. One of the oldest Coptic Christian churches of Egypt is found here, which is called the Hanging Church. And explore the majestic Ben Ezra Synagogue. Then we head to the Mosque of Amr ibn al-As, which was built first in Egypt’s history and reflects Islamic architecture. And more to explore like the Alabaster and Ibn Tulun mosques.
After the first part of the tour ends. It’s the time to enjoy the daily life of the Egyptians in one of the most famous old markets:Khan El Khalili, known as Cairo’s renowned market. The narrow streets are packed with shops that provide spices, jewelry, textiles and memorable gifts. This place provides a feast for the senses and gives one an insight into Cairo’s daily activities. Always haggle for the best prices from locals if you want to enjoy true Egyptian shopping.
