If you’re a nature lover, bird enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape on the Nile—this exclusive 3-hour bird watching tour in Aswan is just the thing. Glide gently through the calm waters around the First Cataract Islands aboard a traditional felucca sailboat, where birds, blossoms, and breathtaking views await.
Your bird-watching adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel, where you’ll meet your expert guide. From there, you’ll board a traditional felucca and begin sailing the Nile’s gentle currents. As the boat glides toward Lord Kitchener’s Island, keep your eyes peeled—your guide will help you spot graceful Egrets (and their chicks!), vibrant Parakeets, and other colorful locals hiding among the trees.
Along the shores, you’ll be surrounded by blooming tropical plants—poinciana, lantana, acacia, and more. The air smells sweet, the wind rustles gently through the reeds, and the only sound is the splash of water against the boat—and the soft flutter of wings.
As you sail further upriver towards the Aga Khan Mausoleum, the birdwatching becomes even more magical. Look out for Kingfishers, Malachite Kingfishers, Little Bittern Herons, Nile Valley Sunbirds, and even the charming Little Green Bee-Eaters. This quiet corner of the Nile is a haven for both birds and the people who love them.
At the end of your journey, we’ll sail back to the dock, where your driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel.

There are a lot of things to do in Aswan including Temples, Islands, Museums, and the cheerful Nubian Village. You shouldn't leave Aswan without visiting the High Dam, Abu Simbel Temple, Philae Temple, Sehil Island, and more attractions to explore on Aswan day tours.
You will need to spend 2-3 days in Aswan to see the main attractions. The first day is dedicated to visiting the Philae Temple, Abu Simbel Temple, or the High Dam, all of them are situated on the Nile River so you will enjoy all of them in our Egypt Nile Cruise tours. The second day is dedicated to exploring the Nubian museum and the Nubian Village. The Nubian people's history and culture are explored in the museum.
We recommend you go to Luxor because Luxor has a lot of important ancient Egyptian sites that need a lot of walking around and visiting its temples while Aswan is seen as a place of rest next to its temples.
Aswan offers a wide variety of attractions for visitors to discover and is an ideal base for a one-day tour of the city of Abu Simbel.
The architecture of the High Dam is not only visually attractive nor is it of historical interest. It is hardly a must-see tourist attraction in Aswan.
