Your day begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Cairo. From there, we’ll head straight into the heart of Islamic Cairo, where timeless stories and breathtaking landmarks await.

Salah El-Din Citadel

Our first stop is the mighty Citadel of Salah El-Din, a medieval fortress perched high above the city. Built in the 12th century to defend against Crusader attacks, this iconic stronghold once served as the seat of power for centuries—under the Ayyubids, Mamluks, and Ottomans. From up here, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Cairo’s skyline.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

Inside the Citadel, you'll find the majestic Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the “Alabaster Mosque.” Built in the 1800s and inspired by Istanbul’s Sultan Ahmed Mosque, this grand structure is one of Cairo’s most recognized Islamic landmarks. Its towering minarets and elegant domes are truly picture-perfect.

Lunch Break

We’ll pause for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant where you can savor authentic Egyptian cuisine before continuing your historical adventure.

Sultan Hassan Mosque & Madrassa

Next, we’ll visit the breathtaking Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrassa, a true masterpiece of Mamluk architecture. Built in the 14th century, this monumental mosque is known for its grand scale and intricate stonework—a powerful symbol of medieval Cairo's artistic peak.

Al Rifa’i Mosque

Just across from Sultan Hassan stands the elegant Al Rifa’i Mosque, built in the 19th century by Khoshiar Hanim, mother of Khedive Ismail. It’s not only a beautiful mosque but also a royal tomb housing the remains of members of Egypt’s royal family.

Ibn Tulun Mosque

We’ll continue to the Ibn Tulun Mosque, the oldest mosque in Cairo that has survived in its original form. Built in the 9th century, this vast and serene space reflects the grandeur of Abbasid architecture with wide courtyards and unique spiral minarets. It’s a peaceful hidden gem in the city.

Al Muizz Street

Wander down the atmospheric Al Muizz Street, a living museum of Islamic architecture. This ancient street dates back to the Fatimid period and is lined with beautifully preserved mosques, palaces, and old houses—each telling a story from Cairo’s rich past.

Khan El Khalili Bazaar

No trip to Cairo is complete without a stroll through the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. This bustling market is full of life, color, and character. Pick up souvenirs, sip on mint tea at the legendary El Fishawy Café, or just soak in the vibrant ambiance of this historic souk, which dates back to the 14th century.

Return to Your Hotel

After a full day of discovery, we’ll drive you back to your hotel, with your heart (and camera) full of memories from one of the most enchanting corners of Cairo.
