TOUR OVERVIEW

This 12 days Egypt tour package is very proper to cover all the main attractions of Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, and Luxor. Spend your free time in Cairo and Alexandria in elegant hotels and spend 4 days, 3 nights on board a 5-star maximum comfort Nile cruise. Stare at the gigantic pyramids of Giza and wander around the treasures of King Tut in the museum. Visit all the major temples and tombs in Luxor and Aswan, and then visit the world heritage temples at Abu Simbel.

Welcome to Egypt. Our representative will meet you on arrival at Cairo airport and transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo

This morning after breakfast, you will see some of the world’s most iconic sights – the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.

Instantly familiar yet retaining a mystique and power, getting up close to these incredible pharaonic tombs is amazing.

Explore the structures that have stood tall for 4,500 years. In addition, for an additional charge, you may be able to go inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, (although occasionally it may be closed to visitors).

The inside thoroughfares of the Pyramids are very small and very warm, so for those suffering from claustrophobia, it is not recommended.

Please note that you will be required to walk around the Pyramids complex.

It can be very hot in the summer months, so be prepared for little shade and pack appropriate clothing, sun protection, and carry lots of water.

Afterward, make your way to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s great collections of antiquities.

Wander the treasure-filled halls of the museum, and make sure to check out the Mummies Hall (optional) for a close encounter with some of the country’s most important queens and pharaohs.

The masses of gleaming artifacts recovered from the tomb of Tutankhamun are a remarkable sight.

From gold jewelry to the famous golden death mask and his gilded sarcophagi, this pharaoh was certainly prepared for the afterlife.

Jump in a private van today and drive following the ‘ desert road’ to the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria (approximately 3 hours).

Egypt&rsquo's second-largest city and main port, locals call this vibrant city the Bride of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Greek architect Dinocrates built Alexandria in 331 BC under the orders of Alexander the Great.

The city, immortalizing Alexander&rsquo's name quickly flourished into a prominent cultural, intellectual, political, and economic metropolis.

It was the renowned capital of Ancient Egypt&rsquo's last royal dynasty, the Ptolemies, and the site of the Pharos.

One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this lighthouse acted as a beacon, guiding sailors away from this notoriously treacherous stretch of coastline.

On arrival, head underground and delve into the mysteries of the Kom ash-Shuqqafa catacombs.

This Roman burial site is the largest of its kind in Egypt and was discovered, quite accidentally, by a hapless donkey.

The crypts are 20 meters below street level, and what probably began as a small family tomb grew into a labyrinth of chambers that could accommodate more than 300 bodies.

Murals and reliefs inside show how Alexandria was a place where Egyptian and Greek funerary myths coexisted.

Stop by the strikingly modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, inspired by the original great library of Alexandria and built to hold over 8 million books.

Take some time to stroll along the Corniche and around Fort Qaitbey to enjoy the fresh Mediterranean air. Montazah garden is home to two palaces

This morning, pay a visit to Al Montazah Palace and Gardens where there are two palaces

One built-in 1892 and another in 1932 by King Fuad I, and acres of picturesque gardens.

The gardens are located along the shoreline and flow from splendidly landscape gardens into great beaches.

Soak up the surroundings before returning by private van to Cairo (approximately 3 hours).

Take some time to relax or get some supplies before you board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan (approximately 13 hours

The Nile, Elephantine Island, and white-sailed feluccas: welcome to Aswan, Egypt&rsquo's southernmost city. Its easy-going charm is due in no small part to its large Nubian population.

The city is Egypt&rsquo's southern gateway to Africa and an important market town, so take time here to check out one of the country’s best bazaars.

When you arrive you will explore the beautiful Temple of Isis (the Goddess of health, marriage, and wisdom), which was rescued from the rising waters of the Nile and relocated on Philae Island.

It is a marvel of decorative pylons featuring some of Egypt&rsquo's finest carvings – one of the real gems of Upper Egypt.

In any free time, you might choose to visit the excellent Nubian Museum, which displays the history, art, and culture of the Nubians.

This evening you will experience the modern Nubian culture first-hand with a visit to a nearby village.

You will join a local Nubian family for dinner and get an unforgettable insight into the daily life of the local people.

This is a rare and memorable experience, giving you the chance to become fully immersed in the local culture.

This morning take a short flight (approximately 45 minutes) from Aswan to Abu Simbel, where you will explore some magnificent temples (flights not included).

Built by Ramses II. It was the gateway to Egypt for Southern Africans and its imposing facade delineated the line between what was the Pharaoh&rsquo's land and what was not.

With the four gargantuan statues of Ramses guarding the Great Temple, carved directly out of the mountain on the west bank of the Nile. This is one of Egypt&rsquo's most memorable sights.

Return from Abu Simbel and transfer to meet your Nile cruise boat. Enjoy a fantastic mix of total relaxation and organized sightseeing on an iconic Nile River cruise to Luxor.

At some point today, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the river from a felucca, a traditional Nile sailboat.

Continue your leisurely cruise down the Nile, with today’s stop at Kom Ombo Temple, north of Aswan.

Built on a high dune overlooking the Nile, the complex sits picturesquely ruined on the river’s edge and dates back to the early 2nd century BC.

The complex is unique because it has a mirror-image design, divided down the middle, with either side dedicated to a different set of Gods.

One-half is known as the Temple of Sobek (the crocodile-headed god of fertility), and it includes details on the Ancient Egyptian&rsquo's relationship with crocodiles, whom they revered and feared in equal measure.

The other half is dedicated to Haroeris (also known as Horus the falcon God). In addition, the whole temple is full of fascinating reliefs.

Return to the cruise boat where you’ ll continue traveling upriver. With free time relaxing on the sundeck. Then take in the surrounding sights desert hills forming a backdrop to lush riverbanks. Fishermen casting their nets and farmers working their land.

Today finds you moored near Edfu, a beautifully preserved temple also dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god.

You will disembark and discover the lively streets of Edfu town – get acquainted with the bustling town center and the bazaar.

Then continue to the temple, perhaps the best preserved in the whole country. The scale is incredibly impressive, with soaring sandstone walls covered in reliefs and hieroglyphics.

You will pass through the Grand Temple entranceway into a colossal courtyard ringed with 32 towering columns. Each is richly decorated with patterns and was once the site of a great altar.

As you explore further you will discover endless reliefs. Like of the gods Horus and Thoth pouring sacred water over King Neos Dionysos – the library, a laboratory, and the holy sanctuary where a golden statue of Horus once stood.

The sense of awe that comes from touring this temple is incredible.

Return to your boat for your final night aboard. In addition, make the most of the incredible views of one of the world’s greatest rivers.

Your Nile cruise ends in the open-air museum of Luxor from the spectacular temple complex of Karnak to the Valley of the Kings. Luxor is full of wonderfully preserved reminders of the Pharaohs.

Today you will visit the magnificent Karnak Temple, which is perhaps the most impressive of all the ancient Pharoahs’ monumental works.

One of the world’s most celebrated temple complexes. Karnak is a house of the gods built over some 200 years.

Your guided tour of this vast temple of impressive pylons, obelisks, and chapels will reveal its finest sections. Such as the Avenue of Sphinxes and the Great Temple of Amun.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Then shop in the excellent bazaar (open until quite late) or perhaps experience the atmosphere of a local teahouse.

Today you will hop in a private minivan and discover some of the many wonders of ancient Thebes.

Your first stop is the Colossi of Memnon, two 17-meter-high statues on Luxor’s west bank.

Carved from granite blocks, they represent the Pharaoh Amenhotep III and were once part of an impressive colonnade.

Continue to the spectacular royal burial site of the Valley of the Kings. Buried under the arid hills here are over 60 tombs of pharaohs, many richly decorated with reliefs and paintings.

With your leader. Explore this sprawling and spectacular place. Where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (16th to 11th century BC) secretly interred for all eternity.

Your group leader will explain the history and legends of these remarkable people and their funerary rites. Moreover, the significance of the many paintings and hieroglyphics is still well preserved in the deepest tombs.

You will visit three of the most interesting royal tombs and then continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. A stunning colonnaded building set against high cliffs creates a spectacular natural amphitheater.

One of our Egyptian great queens; built this temple to prove her importance among her ancestors.

The afternoon is yours to explore. Perhaps you would like to shop in the market. Alternatively, visit the world’s first Mummification Museum to discover the secrets of pharaonic preservation.

Catch a short flight back up to Cairo this morning (approximately 1.5 hours).

On your return to the capital. Visit the Islamic parts of the city. In addition, the frenetic backstreets of the local bazaar (Khan el-Khalili) with your trip leader.

A labyrinth of narrow streets and passageways, Khan is one of the biggest and oldest markets in the world.

The ‘Khan’. Sprawling around an old area known as Al-Azhar is a quintessentially Cairo experience. A warren of alleys with stalls serving up a succession of intoxicating scenes.

It retains a distinctly medieval feel. You might explore the gold market.

Then maybe gather your fellow travelers for a celebratory kebab, kofta, or sheesha as this Egypt Experience ends.

There are no activities planned for the final day and you can depart the accommodation at any time.

Some tours may be as inexpensive as $500 per person for a budget group tour, while others can cost $5000 or more for a luxury private tour. Don't drink the tap water - it is highly chlorinated. However, with enough time in Egypt, you could potentially grow accustomed to the water. This doesn't mean that the tap water is polluted, it simply means that you are not used to it, and you might get stomach problems. This happened to most people when they visit a country for the first time. They were simply not used to water there. It's a similar situation here. It is advisable to drink Bottled water during your entire holiday. That is why it is strongly advisable that you don't drink the tap water, and use it only for washing and brushing your teeth.

Enjoy Egypt Tours From September until March. It is the perfect time when the weather is good and mild. From September until mid-November, when it is very nice and the temperatures are pleasant for all activities - around 25 C to 15 C. mid-Nov until the end of February is wintertime when temperatures during the day are around 12 or 15 C, and at night can drop to about 7 or 8 C. In March and April, the weather is still so nice and travelers can enjoy the Easter vacation.

From May to September is the summer season. Spending summertime in a desert climate does not appeal to most travelers. Average daytime temperatures hover in the high 80s and low to mid-90s, although they can jump up into three digits in the South as in Luxor and Aswan. Summer is really hot here, prices go down and it is a good chance for travelers with a tight budget.

The weather in Egypt is generally warm and dry, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The country is located in the northern hemisphere and its climate is influenced by its location in the tropics and its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea.

In the summer, temperatures can reach up to 40°C (104°F) or higher, especially in the desert areas of the country. The humidity is also quite low, which makes the heat more bearable.

In the winter, the weather is mild, with temperatures ranging from 15°C (59°F) to 25°C (77°F). The humidity is higher during the winter months, and there is also a chance of rain, especially in the coastal areas.

Overall, the best time to visit Egypt is from October to April, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable.

Safety and security are our first and foremost concerns! Egypt is a very safe country with a low crime rate. Now with the coronavirus outbreak, accommodations and sightseeing nationwide have finalized sterilization and disinfection in light of the Egyptian government's efforts to implement precautionary measures against the COVID-19. In addition, our company has followed the same procedures to make all our staff, guides, and drivers are well-trained with the current events to prevent and stop the spread of this outbreak. Traveling the world is a joyful experience and we want to do our part to keep the anticipation stress-free.

There are many interesting and exciting things to do in Egypt. Some popular activities include:

  1. Visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza: The pyramids are one of the most famous landmarks in Egypt and a must-see for any visitor.

  2. Exploring the ancient city of Luxor: Luxor is home to several important ancient Egyptian sites, including the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings.

  3. Cruising down the Nile: A cruise down the Nile River is a great way to see the country and visit some of the smaller towns and villages along the way.

  4. Visiting the Abu Simbel temples: These temples are located in southern Egypt and are known for their impressive size and intricate carvings.

  5. Going on a desert safari: Egypt has a large desert region, and going on a safari is a great way to experience the unique landscape and culture of the area.

  6. Visiting Cairo: Cairo is the capital of Egypt and is home to many interesting museums, markets, and other cultural attractions.

  7. Snorkeling or diving in the Red Sea: The Red Sea is known for its clear waters and abundant marine life, making it a popular destination for snorkeling and diving.

  8. Visiting the Siwa Oasis: The Siwa Oasis is a beautiful desert oasis located in western Egypt. It's a great place to relax and escape the heat of the desert.

The high season for tourism is all year with winter and spring being peak season for cultural travels with lots of sightseeing. Weather in Egypt is perfect for many kinds of tourism, and if coming in June, July, and August, head for the seaside resorts. Those months are very warm with temperatures that can reach around 45C. and the humidity is about 70 to 80%, but it is bearable with the sea and large swimming pools nearby.

So the period of the high summer season is also a bit busy as hotels fill up with tourists from all over the world looking for a bargain, lots of sunshine, diving, snorkeling, etc. It is also a primary vacation time in Europe. If you come in the deep summer season you can still enjoy it because you can always sightsee early in the morning and go again at night when the sunsets. You will definitely need good sunscreen and a lot of liquids to drink with a nice hat on your head. Summer is a good time for people looking for good rates in accommodation and other services.

Egypt is a Muslim country and the dress code is towards the conservative side, especially for women. That being said, we are used to seeing travelers from all over the world. My suggestion would be to wear light clothes and not to wear short shorts, short skirts and alike to avoid the occasional unwanted stare. But it’s really up to you. When you visit religious places (synagogues, churches, and mosques) you do need to cover your shoulders and wear over the knee dresses, if you are planning to wear one of course. If you plan to attend the Nile dinner cruise, there is no need for formal wear unless you want to make that night a special night! Also, you will be sharing this experience with other travelers so you can dress however you feel most comfortable.

You can get your visa when you arrive at Cairo Airport. It is an easy process for USA, UK, Canadian, Australian and European citizens. The visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or postage stamp) that you buy from the visa office, at the port of entry just before the immigration booth. The visa will cost you $25 US Dollars and after buying it; you just stick it on any empty page on your passport. Once you have bought your visa you then stand in line to get your passport stamped by the immigration officer. You can also apply for E-Visa via the official electronic visa portal: www.visa2egypt.gov.eg

Egypt has many historical sites that you can visit and enjoy. Each tour is different and unique. If you go on a Nile cruise, you can visit Abu Simbel, Aswan, and Luxor in the South and enjoy the temples, tombs, and the treasures of the Nile. In the North, enjoy the Pyramids of Giza, The Egyptian Museum, Sakkara. Mosques, churches in Cairo, and many landmarks located in the city of Alexandria. On the East, Enjoy a beach tour for diving, snorkeling, and swimming in the Red sea. Every city has its charm, history, and flavor where you can do many tours and activities.

The amount of time you will need to spend in Egypt depends on your interests and the specific activities you want to do while you are there. Here are some factors to consider when determining how many days you should spend in Egypt:

  1. What you want to see: Egypt has a lot of cultural and historical attractions, and the more you want to see, the more time you will need. For example, if you want to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the other ancient sites in the Cairo area, you may want to spend at least a few days in the city. If you also want to visit Luxor and the Nile Valley, you will need even more time.

  2. Your travel style: If you prefer to take things at a slower pace and spend more time exploring each place in depth, you will need more time in Egypt. On the other hand, if you like to pack a lot of activities into each day and move quickly from place to place, you may be able to see a lot in a shorter amount of time.

  3. Your budget: The longer you stay in Egypt, the more it will cost. If you have a limited budget, you may need to be more selective about what you see and do, and plan your trip accordingly.

As a general rule, I would recommend at least a week in Egypt to get a good sense of the country and see some of the major attractions. If you have more time, you can explore more of the country and see some of the smaller towns and villages as well.
