Shore excursions, ship tours and day trips to Cairo from Alexandria Port to Giza Pyramids Egypt by Privet Chariot Horse from vessels, cruise ships arriving Alexandria where you will get excited by a panoramic view of the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus and many other ancient historical sites.

Day 1: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara & Khan el Khalili Bazaar

Your Egyptologist guide will pick you up at Alexandria Port. You will then be driven on an air-conditioned vehicle from Alexandria to Cairo, approximately 3 hours. Once you arrive in Giza, your Egyptologist guide will provide a fascinating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Cheops, Khafre and Menakaure. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. You will have free time to enter one of the pyramids (optional, for an additional cost); however, your guide is not allowed to enter with you. You can also go on a camel ride (optional, for an additional cost) or may visit the Solar Boat Museum (optional, for an additional cost), home to the remarkably well-preserved funerary boat of Khufu.

After visiting the pyramids, you will continue across the plateau for a photo opportunity of the three pyramids rising from the sands, with the Cairo skyline in the background. A short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, for thousands of years the enigmatic symbol of Egypt! You will then have lunch at a local restaurant. Your next stop is the Sakkara necropolis, home to Egypt’s oldest pyramid. Your guide will provide a brief history of the famous Step Pyramid built by the engineer Imhotep in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser. After lunch, you will proceed to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the most famous and oldest bazaars in the Middle East. In the Bazaar, you will enjoy free-time to stroll through the maze of streets and shops where you will have a chance to bargain for a souvenir or two of your trip to Egypt or enjoy a cup of Egyptian tea at the famous coffee shop “El Fishawy.” Overnight in Cairo.

Optional night activities:

Option 1: Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids ($40. US Dollars per person)

Option 2: Nile Dinner Cruise on a 4-star cruise ($45 US dollars per person) OR on a 5-star cruise ($65 US Dollars per person)

Day 2: Egyptian Museum, Salah El Din Citadel & Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque

After having breakfast at your hotel, you will visit world-renowned Egyptian Museum. The museum displays a rare collection of 5,000 years of art which is considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are displayed, including an exhibit dedicated to King Tutankhamen’s tomb treasures. His five-gold gilded coffins dominate the main hall while his magnificent gold mask is the star attraction! Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the most important pieces before allowing you to have free time to explore the museum at leisure. Here you may also visit the “Royal Mummies Room” (optional, for an additional cost) where you will learn about the art of mummification in ancient Egypt. After your visit to the Egyptian Museum, you will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will tour the Citadel of Salah El Din and visit there the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. This famous mosque was designed by Yousif Boushnaq who was a Turkish architect who came especially from Istanbul to build this great mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849). You will then stop at a Papyrus Institute where you will have the opportunity to learn how papyrus paper is made and shop for souvenirs if you wish. You will have enough time to do other souvenir shopping to then drive to back Alexandria Port to board your cruise ship.

  1. I had been my lifelong dream to go see the Pyramids.
We had tried to go a few times but due the previous drama in Egypt, we never got there.
We were going on the Sun Princess Sydney to Dover 53 nights cruise.
I have never organized a tour for people I had never meet, and did not know at this stage for how many people.
As always, I researched TripAdvisor my bible when traveling and found Your Egypt Tours.
I emailed Ana Abu to see what they could do as our ship arrived in Alexandria.
Beside the Pyramids, I wanted to see Sakkara, Egyptian Antiquities Museum and Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar. Lunch was included.
    .
My husband and the rest of our group had a fantastic day. There were three people on the bus from Your Egypt Tours. The coach driver, the guide and Mamdouh the Egyptologist.
I had every one on the tour come and thank me as they had had such a great time. They said that Mamdouh was great, so enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. I was very upset I was not able to go on this tour, but we will do Egypt at another date and for longer than a day. We will be booking our tour through Your Egypt Tour because of their great service.
