Tour Itinerary

Experience the beauty of the Temples of Karnak illuminated against the darkness of night as the pharaohs of the New Kingdom take you on a journey into Ancient Egypt during your stay in Luxor.

Depart for the Sound and Light Show at Karnak from your Luxor hotel for an evening of entertainment-style of Egypt tours! The show begins as you walk along the Avenue of Sphinx, passing through the towering facade into the Great Court. Walking through the complex a booming Pharaoh's voice narrates the history of Upper Egypt and the New Kingdom as the various additions left by rulers such as King Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Queen Hatshepsut are illuminated against the night sky.

The second part of the Sound and Light Show at Karnak finds you seated overlooking the sacred lake as the complex is illuminated and the story of Egypt continues. Please note, while the show is suitable for all ages, the complex is very dark and commentary loud which younger children may find frightening. The ground in and around Karnak is uneven and sandy, please wear comfortable, flat walking shoes and enjoy one of the interesting Egypt day tours.

Being in Luxor for a single day is preferable to staying away. The main attractions in Luxor may be seen in one day. You can go to Hatshepsut Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, and possibly one or two other monuments on a day excursion to Luxor. The truthful response would be that a day trip to Luxor is insufficient.

It is frequently described as the largest open-air museum in the world and for a good cause. You may find a ton of ruins, monuments, temples, and tombs there. You'll need at least two days of Egypt day tours to discover all that Luxor has to offer without feeling rushed.

Unless you travel with a tour group, visiting Luxor on your own can be rather stressful. Luxor has so many archaeological sites and things to do that touring each temple and cemetery may take several days and a lot of money!

There are no set meter rates for cabs in Luxor, although depending on your negotiation skills, the majority of journeys will cost between 5 and 150 Egyptian pounds (approximately $0.50 to $17). Uber and other ride-hailing services are not available in Luxor.

You should set aside about $200 for Luxor excursions, which would likely involve visiting the Luxor and Karnak Temples. West Bank Temples and the Valley of Kings and Queens. Felucca rides at sunset.

Travel has helped us to understand the meaning of life and it has helped us become better people. Each time we travel, we see the world with new eyes.

Absolutely mind blowing. A definite must see. We flew from Aswan after I contact them, as I did not want to sit in car for hours with my 10-year-old daughter. Just so much history and ancient love. You cannot miss this one thing if you are in Cairo. The rocks are just HUGE, so special.

I recently traveled with my wife, daughter, son in law and two grandsons (ages 4 and 2). We had a private tour experience. From the moment we landed at the airport on our arrival to the day we left we were treated with the utmost care and attention

Our trip to was wonderful. The accommodations and travel was seamlessly arranged by customer service rep, Mona, and we visited so many of the famous Egyptian antiquities. I would not have done the trip without the very knowledgeable guides, Ashraf and Mamdouh
