Hymn to Osiris

Story of Hymn to Osiris

Story of Hymn to Osiris

In which Osiris is killed by his wicked brother Set, is described in the hymn to Osiris. The hymn is written on Amenmose's limestone stele, which dates to the Eighteenth Dynasty. (The stele is currently housed at Paris's Louvre Museum.) The greeting and praise of Osiris are expressed in the first verses of the hymn, which also mentions how Osiris is revered and remembered throughout the earth and the skies.
Salutations to Osiris, Lord of Eternity, King of Gods, God of many names, God of sacred forms, and God of temple rituals hidden in plain sight!

At the Justice Hall, Lord of Remembrance, Secret Ba of Re, his very body, the master of the cavern. In the southern sky, lord of honour, The northern sky purifying, The unwearying stars are his home, the imperishable stars are under his control, and the forefathers are glad to see him. People over there are in awe of him.

HYMN TO AMUN

HYMN TO AMUN

HUMOR FOR PTAH The song to Ptah was composed during the New Kingdom (1550–1069 B.C), and it is placed on the tombstone of Nefer-Re-Bu, who confesses that the gods put him blind because he uttered a falsehood. At the summit of the stele, Never-Re-Bu is shown bowed down before Ptah, who is seated inside his temple.
Praise Ptah, Lord of Maat, King of the Two Lands, fair-faced on his throne, the only God among the Ennead, and beloved as the ruler of the Two Lands. May he provide you life, wealth, and health.

He continues, "I am a man who falsely swore by Ptah, Lord of Maat, and he made me see darkness by day," on the back of the stele. To the learned and the foolish, I shall proclaim his might. Beware of Ptah, King of Maat, both little and vast! He does not ignore anyone's deed, as you can see! Avoid using Ptah's name incorrectly. He who says it falsely will fall, for sure. SHOUT TO RE When the local god Amun gained popularity during the Eighteenth Dynasty, he combined with the sun god Re to become the supreme god of Thebes, Amun-Re. The hymn to Re has various versions, but in most cases, the sun deity is referred to by many of his 75 names in the opening section. The second section consists of a sequence of incantations connecting the monarch with numerous deities, particularly the sun deity. This is a verse from the hymn to Re's first section that was inscribed on the stele of the brothers Suti and Hor, which is currently housed at the British Museum.

Salutations to Re, who is flawless every day, who consistently gets up at dawn, and to Khepri, who exhausts himself working hard! Your rays are on the unknown person's face. Beautiful gold cannot compare to your radiance; You formed your own body; the Creator is uncreated. One and alone, transcending all of eternity, remote with millions under his charge; Your beauty is comparable to that of heaven, and your colour is more vibrant than its tones. Everyday you offer yourself at dawn, Secure is your sailing beneath your grandeur. As you cross the sky, all faces witness you. When you set, you are concealed from their view.

THE ATEN'S HYMN

Akhenaten composed a prayer in adoration of the Aten, the one deity he devoted himself to after ascending to the throne.
Salute to the Aten The Earth is in complete blackness as you descend towards western light. One sleeps in rooms with covered heads so that one eye cannot see the other. Have they been robbed of the commodities that lie beneath their feet? Nobody would make a comment about it if they knew it. The planet is still, darkness lingers, and every lion emerges from its cave as every snake bites. The creator is sleeping in the light. When you shine like Aten of daytime, the earth becomes more illuminated as you dawn in the country of light. The entire earth gets to work, and all animals gobble up their herbs. Trees and herbs are blooming, and birds are flying out of their nests. Psalm 104 You cause night to fall, and all of the woodland creatures emerge. The ferocious lions howl for their prey, claiming that God is their source of nourishment. When the sun rises, they depart and return to their dens, while the man goes outside to work and works until sunset. What diversity, Yahweh, you have produced.
